Seven years ago, ELPELUT was founded by Sonya Groot and Esther de Munnik with a shared dream: to bring together thoughtful design, natural materials and exceptional craftsmanship.
Inspired by a slower way of living, we create timeless pieces in collaboration with talented women artisans who preserve generations of traditional techniques. We believe craftsmanship flourishes when people are valued, respected and given the time to create with care.
Our name is a tribute to Ibiza’s original “Els Peluts”, the free spirits who embraced a handmade, conscious way of living long before slow living became a movement. Their connection to nature, creativity and simplicity continues to inspire everything we do. From handcrafted fashion to unique interior pieces, every ELPELUT creation is made slowly, one by one, with respect for the people behind it.

ELPELUT × LOEWE
What started with our iconic Fisherman’s Lamp and a chance encounter in Ibiza grew into a very special collaboration with LOEWE.
In 2019, a LOEWE secret shopper discovered our lamp at Los Enamorados in Ibiza. Shortly afterwards, we were invited to LOEWE’s headquarters in Madrid to present our work.
For the global launch of the LOEWE Paula’s Ibiza Collection 2020, we were commissioned to create almost 2,000 handmade Fisherman’s Lamps in different sizes and designs. Each lamp was crocheted by hand in Uttar Pradesh, India, by the talented women artisans we work with, using traditional techniques and countless hours of skilled craftsmanship.
Completed in just five months, the lamps became part of LOEWE’s global store presentation, from Madrid, Paris and London to New York, Tokyo and Singapore.
For ELPELUT, it was a defining moment — bringing our iconic Fisherman’s Lamp and the craftsmanship of the women we work with to an international stage. A beautiful meeting of two worlds: LOEWE’s heritage of craftsmanship and design, and ELPELUT’s love for handmade pieces, colour and the relaxed spirit of Ibiza.
Over the years, we have continued to collaborate with architects, interior designers and clients around the world, bringing the world of ELPELUT into inspiring spaces.
